"The work I’m displaying within this exhibition centers around the notion of escapism and different worlds. I'm using the narrative form of both literature and photography to display the worlds in which we can be sucked into or observe mentally whilst displaying them physically. Literature sucks you into a different world. One where anything is possible. I wanted to physically display this ‘world’ and so have installed a book onto the wall in which the text of the pages physically come to life -flowers are growing from the spine of the book. You are forced to read the text to understand the relevance of the flowers. Mirroring this I have photographs of bubbles. They can be perceived to be small, unique worlds of there own. They reflect that of what is around them and so encompass there own little world of reflections- each being different to another. The physical representation is displayed through a bubble gun being pumped at different intervals creating individual and unique bubbles reflecting there surrounding for the observer to encounter, just as they encounter the flowers growing out of the book. Therefore creating physical representations of two very different forms of what can be considered ‘worlds.’"
