IreNam

Here are some photos of IreNam in development:

The Gallery floor had to be covered to avoid splashing paint everywhere. Shown here is Joe Smith, Joey
Nguyen and John O'Grady.

We used long rolls of carboard taped together to create a new layer. Fortunately for the fighters this softened the floor. Shown in image is Joe Smith.

Joe Smith filmed and edited the fight for use of documentation and displaying it for the show. He used two cameras, on stationary on a tripod and another hand held capturing it with close ups and zooms and such.

At the beginning of each round Joe Smith would re-apply paint to the boxing gloves of John and Joey. Each round susing a different colour, sometimes mixed. Shown here is Joe Smith pouring paint on Johns gloves. John already smothered in paint from previous rounds.

A shot taken by Deelarah Armaghan who was kind enough to photograph the entire match. Some shots will also be exhibited with the piece.

John O'Grady and Joey Nguyn show here at the end of five rounds exhausted.

All Photographs taken by Deelarah Armaghan.

Progression Update: John O'Grady and Joey Nguyen have made a personal colloboration for the exhibition, titled IreNam, with their work consisting of the following:

The Art Gallery, Welling School
Boxing Gloves
Poster Paint
Plenty of Loving Hatrid

'The piece is as much about the process as the final product, an Art of body painting through unorthodox means, exploring the ways of creative style and social function. The idea originated from the competetive nature between the two, urging for a standard boxing match, under professional guidelines and rules. With the painting twist however, face shots were excluded for safety (humpth.)' - John O'Grady

10 rounds, 10 colour combinations; documented with the assistance of cinematographer/editor Joe Smith, also fortunately photographed by Deelarah Armaghan (a past student of Welling, who jhas now obtained a Dimploma Foundation award in Art&Design).

NEXT POST: Production and action photos and videos to the IreNam experience, with words from fellow partner Joey Nguyen.

We Done Art; We Are

'We Done Art' is the name for us (a group of Art&design Students from Welling School Specialist Arts College) and our collaborative work for an exclusive end-of-year Showcase of ourselves - designed, managed and run by ourselves.

This is to celebrate and commemorate our years at Welling School, and our personal and acedemic progression within the fields of Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography and Textiles. the end-of-year show will incolude works from ourselves, a combination of past and present works for the likes of all to appreciate.

Between the beginning and end of this group project, it is our duty to not only redesign and set up the gallery to our taste, but to spread the word in hope that you will share interest and come to our special private viewing on the 7th July this year. In addition, we shall be using this blog to post photographed and fimled documentation of our journey, including personal inputs and updates from the likes of us all.

NEXT POST: A lowdown to the group; including profile info, images and expectations to what will be showcased!

On behalf of the group, speak soon, take care, and keep creative.
